The Gratified

THE GRATIFIED
BY
APURVA SANJAY MALEWAR

The plight of humanity revolves around the clutches of selfishness,
that eats away all the immaculate goodness that one does for another.
I fail to understand why some people fail to understand that life is not all about themselves,
It deals with other people as well, the one's who give, the one's who care and the ones who love.

The recipient is never happy with how much you give, we are the poor giving souls, to us it is important to magnify ones feeling of happiness. We are known as the givers as we know is to give, we never ask anything in return, what do we expect? A little bit of appreciation. Which is not too much to ask. Nevertheless some people do not see things the way we do, as long as they what they want, they are glad.

To some of them it's not really that important how we gave them, or what did we have to go through, to give them. To them its important to take, takers have this sad ability to never appreciate the goodness the givers have, Takers always have this sense of feeling that they are the chosen one, and maybe god's greatest gift to mankind. Every girl friend, friend, family or an acquaintance, sometimes not all are selfish, to an extent, it makes me throw up.

The most ridiculous situations are when one goes out of their way to give, the recipient takes it, and is never happy. What are we looking at? A little consideration, a little love, some warmth maybe, thank you? We are not expecting too much, just a little bit, we are selfish in our own way, its always good to be a little selfish, it means to say that you have self - respect.

It does us no good, when we are treated like we made a mistake, its not our fault that the recipient isn't happy with whatever, the most annoying of the situations arise when the profane plight of ingenious people tend to take things like its their sole duty and the plight with which they consider what was given is not good enough, it infuriates the given to utmost and burning rage that you just feel so humiliated, if its not that was not enough its the guilt that is set upon is for something, we thought we would be proud of.

I guess the takers are just made that way, to crib, cry and complain, why do we still take that from them, maybe its love, I wonder what sort? because we ought take a stand, and tell them to go eat shit, and sometimes they ought realize what they are doing to us, and we will have to put our feelings aside and work on a miracle to hurt them, yes there will be profound anguish and pain, they will cry and the drama that would unfold, but hey, think about this, we are in this too, if you can give us pain because we want to see you happy? Hey, we are not gonna try too hard anymore.

Everything aside, we are not going to lose our dignity and self respect for people who can’t appreciate the finer things in life, You can be beautiful, pretty looking lady or the most handsome looking dandy, maybe we will never find people like you, but hey, maybe we will. There is hope and we live by it... you people who do not appreciate the finer things in life, are not god's greatest gift to humanity, you guys are nothing.

The fact that we will not lose our selves to you, or our dignity is what is most important.

This will tech you people respect. Learn that, it’s a basic trait; one does not have to go through a boot camp or a concentration camp to realize the meaning of respect.

It’s born with our values and us. Learn to value people, who really are valued, and respect those who deserve it.

The bottom line is, live for your self, live for your family, live for all those who care, but do not live for the ones who do not appreciate the finer things in life.

They are the biggest losers, who will never remain happy; lets not lose our sleep, tears or mind for such a lousy lot.
